2011 Superduties hit the road in the Spring of 2010
There's a change in the wind and after the cold winds give way to Spring breezes. We will be catching a glimpse of the new 2011 Ford Super Duty Trucks.
Some of the changes will include an all new, Lighter, More Powerful and more Fuel Efficient 6.7L diesel V8 and a six speed Automatic Transmission. Designed and Built by Ford Motor Company. No more Navistar. This 6.7L brute features a Garrett built turbocharger with a small turbine that spins up quickly for response at the essential low rpm's and a large tubine thats forces large amounts of air for more power at high rpm's. From insiders and other sites on the web it appears the final outcome will produce about 365 bph with 700 pf of torque.
As for the all new Ford built transmission it has been quoted that there will not be a manual version available. Hence the New Ford TorqShift 6R140 6-Speed Automatic will be the only transmission offered. Don't fret you manual lovers. If you've checked out the new paddel shifters on the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, get ready! Looks like there coming to SuperDuty land. The 6R140 will include a Manual mode. The torque converter mechanically locks up and gear selection will change only when the thumb selector is tapped up or down.
Look Familiar? Remember the Ford Superchief? Not Quite but real close.
The dash guage layout will change as will the interior with remolded seats. There is to be a new center console that can be changed to personal preference in some 70 different ways and offers about 60 percent more storage space. The console is also to have not only the 12-volt power point but a 110-volt plug as well and be large enough to hold various size laptops.
I am sure that you are already aware that there is a lot more to the story and more will come as it comes available. Not that you need to look here. You can always check out the latest Superduty info at fordvehicles.com/superduty.
